Why was Denmark so slow to adapt Nuclear Energy, when the country housed one of the biggest nuclear scientists ever, Niels Bohr? In the second half of 2021, our postdoctoral fellow Aske Hennelund Nielsen was consulted and appeared as an on-camera expert for the documentary “Niels Bohrs Hemmelighed” (English: Niels Bohr’s Secret) for Danish Broadcasting Cooperation to answer this question. The documentary follows the two historians Peter Ørbæk and Bjørn Meyer, as they investigate Bohr and the history of nuclear energy in Denmark. The documentary series premiered in the spring of 2022, and can be watched online (only in Danish). Aske appears in the first and fifth episodes.
